- You can currently trade all the below forex pairs. All clients can trade all forex pairs.

- Forex Options are available on 10 forex pairs (AUD/USD, EUR/CHF, EUR/GBP, EUR/JPY, EUR/USD, GBP/CHF, GBP/USD, USD/CHF, USD/JPY and USD/MXN). The Forex options are available in standard size (100.000) and mini size (10.000). The expiries run from one week to six months. Prices are quoted 24 hours a day from Sunday night to Friday night.
- Forex trading is free of commissions. The broker makes his revenue on the basis of the spread between the bid and the ask price. The tighter the spread, the lower your trading cost. Hence it is important to select a broker who quotes tight spreads (1), always maintains these tight spreads (2) and is willing to quote maximum spreads (3).
(1) WH SelfInvest offers exceptionally tight forex spreads. The below table shows the spreads on the most actively traded forex pairs. The spreads on all other pairs can be found here. As you can see spreads are not static. The spread on the EUR/USD, for example, evolves between 0,8 and 3 pips. The spread will depend on volatility and the time of day (e.g. Asian pairs have wider spreads when it is night in Asia).

(2) Spreads are kept tight at all times. But do not take our word for it. We provide you with a verification tool. It is called the price activity screen. The price activity screen is visible in both the live and the demo trading platform. It logs the spreads we quote. Open it up before a major news announcement and observe our spread. You will not witness any spread widening.
(3) Most brokers do not commit to maximum spreads. WH SelfInvest does. In this way the client can never have a bad surprise. (*) The spread between parentheses can occur under circumstances such as the Sunday evening opening, the Friday evening close, important unexpected news releases, public holidays in one or both legs of a forex pair, etc. Although we have never quoted above these maximum spreads it is always possible that there are circumstances in the world (e.g. war, terrorism …) which could force us to quote above the maxima.
Maximum spreads offer you a significant advantage.
- You can trade standard contracts (100.000), mini contracts (10.000) or micro contracts (1.000). The prices and spreads are identical for each contract size. Unlike many other brokers we do not discriminate between clients by upcharging for micro or mini contracts.
- Forex prices are quoted in pips or fractional pips. Fractional pips are 1/10 of a pip. So if the spread is one pip, say 1,3201 – 13202, the price quoted in fractional pips could be 1,32011 – 1,32021. The price can then go up like this 1,32012 – 1,32022, 1,32013 – 1,32023 etc. Fractional pips allow traders to place more precise orders, trade in and out of positions within the same price, etc. Fractional pips quoting puts our forex spreads at the highest standard in the forex market. Most brokers are not capable of quoting in fractional pips.
- The margin required to open a position is 1% of the contract value. This corresponds to 100-1 leverage. We do not double margins during the weekend.

- Due to our privileged relationships with no less than 15 of the world's major forex banks (e.g. JP Morgan, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Barclays Bank ...) we can offer and maintain tight spreads. Our spreads tend to be tighter, particularly when there is volatility, than those of other forex brokers.
WH SelfInvest does not function as a market maker. This gives you two major advantages. You do not trade at a price determined by WH SelfInvest, you trade on the best price offered by these 15 banks. And you do not trade against your broker.
Finally, given our relationship with these 15 banks we never need to reqoute or reject a market order. Clients can either select a market order and get the prevailing market price or, they can select a Direct Deal order which displays a price which they can decide to accept or decline. There is no fairer system for quoting forex prices.
- Short positions are allowed on all forex pairs. For the major forex pairs we can accept electronic orders for up to
$ 20.000.000.
- The prices quoted on the free demo trading platforms are identical to the prices quoted in a real account. Unlike many brokers we do not show better prices on the demo.
- To protect as much as possible against an unsecured debit positions are liquidated when the value of the account goes below 25% (i.e. ¼) of the margin required to open the position. For example: a € 1.000 account buys 1 standard contract. The account loses € 750. € 250 Remain. This represents 25% of the € 1.000 margin required. The position will be closed automatically at market price. An automatic liquidation is not a guarantee that you will not have a negative balance.
- WH SelfInvest is at the technological forefront of forex trading. Hence you have at your disposal a multitude of functionalities which appeal to active investors such as trading via the charts, automated orders and guru indicators.
- WH SelfInvest has designated, either directly or indirectly, Belfius Bank, Barclays Bank and JP Morgan Chase Bank to serve as depository banks for client accounts. Client assets are separated from our company's assets and from the assets of other clients. Client assets are split between these three institutions in order to spread risk and hence increase safety.
- The minimum amount required to open an account is € 2.500 or the equivalent in GBP, USD or CHF. The account is allowed to go below this minimum when operational. There is no maximum.
- The account can be held in EUR, GBP, USD or CHF. Besides a Belgian account you can also open an account with one of our branches in other countries.
All staff in all offices speak English.
- Funding the account can be done by money transfer. This needs to be done into a 'client assets' account with Dexia Bank. WH Selfinvest will only accept transfers coming from the accountholder. Transfers from third parties, including family members, will be rejected. The money will automatically be posted to your own individual account with the depository bank. The cost is € 5.
- Transferring money out of the account is straightforward. For security reasons we do not accept transfer instructions via e-mail or internet. Only a signed, written instruction is acceptable. You can fax your instruction to
+32 (0)9 383 86 39. Transfer costs are fixed at € 5 for amounts < € 30.000 and 0,10% (max. € 50) for amounts > € 30.000.

- WH SelfInvest is a European firm which operates within all European rules, regulations and directives. The European regulatory framework for financial institutions is much more strict than that of the USA or Switzerland. As a consequence the quality of European institutions is higher and the investor is offered more protection. In addition WH SelfInvest has been granted a European Passport, a proof of the quality of our institution.
